Топология

Топология - одна из ветвей геометрии. Топология игнорирует понятие метрики (расстояний) между точками пространства, но сохраняет понятие связности. Грубо говоря, в топологии пространство можно растягивать и сжимать как угодно, но нельзя разрывать - точки, которые были соседями, должны оставаться соседями.

Топологическое пространство

Топологическое пространство - это множество точек с введенным отношением "соседи - не соседи". Это отношение должно сохраняться при преобразованиях пространства.

Гомеоморфизм

Обратимо непрерывное отображение между двумя топологическими пространствами. Пример не гомеоморфизма: окружность и прямая - в одну сторону непрерывное, в другую - нет.

Многообразие

Топологическое пространство, локально ведущее себя как Эвклидово.

Теорема Жордана

Интуитивно понятно, что сфера не гомеоморфна тору.

Как различать топологические пространства?

На глазок не всегда получается. Что делать?
Давайте найдем инварианты, которые для одного и того же топологического пространства не меняются, если мы применяем к нему гомеоморфизмы. Различие инвариантов между пространствами будет означать, что это разные пространства.

Эйлерова характеристика

Дырки

Можно говорить о дырках разной размерности.

Числа Бетти

Интуитивно числа Бетти измеряют число дырок разных размерностей.

Как вычислять инварианты?

Можно прибегнуть к алгебраическому подходу, который использовали Эварист Галуа и Нильс Хенрик Абель для доказательства неразрешимости в радикалах уравнений выше 5 степени.

Группы

Множество объектов с групповой операцией, обычно называемой умножением.
  1. (A * B) * C = A * (B * C)
  2. A * 1 = A
  3. A * A^-1 = 1

Примеры групп:
