I carry my schoolbooks to class.

I help my son tie his shoes.

I do the dishes after dinner.

I wash my hair when I am in the shower.

I usually cook dinner for all my family.

I listen to music when I am on the train.

I usually take the train/take the bus/take the subway at 8 o'clock .

My friends are at the bus stop/train station.

Activities around the house

  • Brush my teeth/my hair.
  • Clean the kitchen/my room.
  • Cook breakfast/lunch/dinner.
  • Do the dishes.
  • Do my homework.
  • Take a bath.
  • Take a shower.
  • Wash my hair.

Speaking questions

  • Do you usually help at home? What chores do you do?
  • What’s your favorite room in your house? Why?
  • Are there some chores that you hate doing? 

Is she working late again?

I am listening to music while I am cooking dinner.

Carrie is dancing because she gets a new job.

Are they coming to the party?

I am not listening to music while I'm cooking dinner.

Negative --- > aren't / isn't / am not

Present continuous

  • Use the present continuous to talk about things happening right now or around now.
  • When a verb has one syllable and ends in a consonant, a vowel, and a consonant (like “put” and “stop”), double the consonant and add -ing.
  • When a verb ends in -e (like “come” and “take”), replace -e with -ing.
