Wojciech odrobina Architecture for children

Wojciech Odrobina Less is more in minimalist architecture for children

More does not always mean better, it can be less and much more functional or simply consider how a child can draw a house and from here start designing an architectural project for a nursery that enhances one of the greatest expressions known to all.

Trying to portray and project what a child thinks when he draws a house with its simple shapes, without decorations, with basic colors and the sloping roof of a lifetime is not an easy task if we consider that doors do not even consider that doors or windows have frames.

Breaking the urban space and the architectural tradition of the kindergarten was another key point where the result is a series of eleven small, compact and functional semi-detached and connected houses organized on the basis of open spaces and interior patios.

Wojciech Odrobina - Houses with different sizes as well as orientations where children have access to open spaces on different levels.

The lines and pure forms of the built project surprise by the detail of a totally minimalist envelope and decoration where the windows have detached themselves from that traditional framework.

Wojciech Odrobina - It is not just living and playing outside, so the interior surprises even more with an industrial aspect but at the same time it is cozy and bright, with materials and shapes in detail that invite children to "mess up".

Of course a nursery school with a lot of charm and an exceptional conceptual approach.
