Nor is Microsoft Word easy to use. Its interface is convoluted, baroque, making the easy difficult and the difficult nearly impossible to achieve. It guarantees job security for the guru, not transparency for the zen adept who wishes to focus on the task in hand, not the tool with which the task is to be accomplished. It imposes its own concept of how a document should be structured upon the writer

WYSIWYG is supposed to make text editing easy and improve usability, but most of the time it simply becomes a distraction. A constant needling annoyance that forces you to do silly housekeeping task, when all you want is to put words on the page.
The funny thing about text editors is that most people never actually think about them, and don’t realize that there are choices beyond Word, Notepad and/or TextEdit.

Microsoft Word is a fine word processor for producing documents to be shared or printed, with a wealth of print-based options for indexing, and producing table of contents. As a web publishing tool, however, it is a little less than ideal and produces very messy HTML. The same applies when using Google Docs, OpenOffice, or other word processors.

Most publishing that we do is now online, and Word is fundamentally built for paper. We insert our text into a blogging backend that has 80% of the functionality of Word with none of the formatting fuss. And that simple backend isn’t saddled with fonts that we haven’t licensed or bulleted lists that arise out of nowhere.

- Simplificar la tasca de donar un format al document ja que els nombre d'elements és limitat: negreta, itàlica, capçaleres, enllaços, llistes, imatges i cites.

- Llavors, amb quin programari puc escriure amb Markdown? Amb qualsevol editor de text.
