Invite people to edit, review, and comment

Invite others to review, present, or edit your presentations with you. To invite your first collaborator, select the Collaborate icon in the top-right corner of the editor. If the person you invite doesn't have a Slides account yet, they'll be prompted to sign up for a free one.

If someone only needs to view the presentation, you can share the deck by link instead. Private decks can be shared through revocable private links without adding the viewer as a collaborator.

Permissions

Each collaborator has one of the following roles:

  • Viewer: can comment.
  • Presenter: can comment and present.
  • Editor: can comment, present, and edit the presentation.
  • Admin: can add and remove collaborators. This role is only available on the Team plan.

To change a collaborator's role, select their avatar. You can also remove them from the presentation to revoke their access.

Comments

Once you've added a collaborator, select the collaboration icon to open the comments panel. Comments are attached to the slide you're currently viewing, and each comment thread shows which slide it belongs to.

Comment notifications

When someone adds a new comment, a notification appears in the top-right corner. Select it to jump directly to the related slide. If there's activity while a collaborator is offline, Slides emails them a summary of what they missed.

Collaborator presence

The sidebar lists everyone who has been added to the deck and shows whether they're online. People viewing the same slide as you are grouped together within a green outline.

Slides records saved collaborative changes in the revision history, including who made each revision.

Review mode

If you aren't editing, or you don't have permission to edit, you'll see a page designed for leaving feedback and discussing the presentation. It works well on mobile devices too, so you can leave feedback on the go.

The top-left corner shows whether anyone is currently editing and which slide they're on.
