Slides Agent is an AI coworker that works directly inside your presentation. Give it an idea, an existing deck, or a specific problem, and collaborate with it to create slides, improve your design, develop content, and research supporting material—all without leaving the editor.
Open the Agent
Click the Slides Agent button in the right sidebar, or press Cmd-I on macOS or Ctrl-I on Windows and Linux.

Collaborate on your presentation
Describe what you want to accomplish in the chat. The Agent can help you build new slides, develop or reorganize content, redesign existing work, write speaker notes, and answer questions about your presentation. It can also research topics on the web and find relevant photos and icons.
The Agent can create and edit rich presentation content, including charts, tables, code, images, video, and other content blocks—not only text and layouts. For a quick rewrite of one text block, you can also use Edit with AI. To create and manage complete translated copies of a deck, use presentation translation.

You remain in control while the Agent works. Review its edits as they appear, continue the conversation to refine the result, or edit the presentation yourself at any time.
What you can ask
You can start with a broad goal or a focused request. For example:
- “Turn this outline into a five-slide presentation.”
- “Redesign these slides while preserving the existing style.”
- “Research this topic and add a chart with the key findings.”
- “Find a relevant photo and use it as the background for this slide.”
- “Review this deck and tell me where the story loses focus.”
Automatic context
The Agent knows which slide you are viewing and which content blocks are selected. To request a targeted change, select one or more blocks before writing your instruction. For broader changes, leave the blocks unselected and describe the slide or presentation you want it to work on.
Restore an earlier checkpoint
Every request you send records a checkpoint. To return to one, hover over your message in the Agent sidebar and select Restore checkpoint.

Restoring a checkpoint rolls back the entire presentation to that point in time, including manual changes made afterward. Use it when you want to abandon later edits and continue from an earlier version. For saved versions outside the Agent conversation, use the presentation's revision history.
Follow slide and block links
The Agent can refer directly to slides and content blocks in its responses. Hover over one of these links to preview and highlight the referenced content. Select the link to move to that slide or block and continue working there.

Use Agent Mode
Agent Mode provides an AI-first workspace with a larger chat sidebar and your presentation canvas, while hiding most of the manual editing interface. Use it when you want to focus on directing and reviewing the Agent's work.

You can still select and edit content on the canvas in Agent Mode. Leave Agent Mode whenever you want to return to the full editor interface.
