A crooked music producer and band manager fleeced a businessman out of nearly £170,00 after repeatedly lying to him about new money-making venture. Roy Clay, 47, of Darnholm Court, Grimsby, admitted two offences of obtaining money transfers by deception and producing a fraudulent document. After being fired as band manager for Nektar, a progressive rock group, the band has filed a complaint against him, bringing his actions into light. Clay was jailed for two years and 11 months.
