In this class, we will cover:
- principles of design for the web
- text and typography
- images
- sketching and prototyping
- conceptual understanding of HTML, CSS, and JS
- user experience, usability, and accessibility
Every week, you will do some or all of the following:
- read articles
- watch tutorial videos
- create sketches
- work with basic code
- write a journal entry, blog post, or 1 page paper
- discuss with your classmates

Per week breakdown
- Week 1 - 120 points max
- Week 2 - 120 points max
- Week 3 - 120 points max
- Week 4 - 120 points max
- Week 5 - 120 points max
- Week 6 - 120 points max
- Week 7 - 140 points max (final)
- Week 8 - 140 points max (final)
First 6 weeks
- Attend online chat
- Complete 3 assignments
- Write a blog post
- Rinse and repeat
Anticipated week
- Monday - new week "starts"
- Tuesday to Friday

Lateness
- 1 day late - lose a few points for "max" grade
- 2 days late - lose a few more points for "max" grade
- 3+ days late - pretty much a maximum "C" grade

Max possible grade
79 (790 points)
- Attend every "online chat"
- .. but and in every assignment 3+ days late
- Hand in final on time
- .. but average of 95% on each assignment

- = an 89.6 (just scraping by with a 90 for an "A")

91 (910 points)
- Miss every "online chat"
- .. but hand in every assignment on time
- Hand in final on time
- .. and an average of 99% on every assignment/final
- = a 90 (just scraping by with an "A")
