She long ago came to realize that all the information about Africa was not very encouraging. Moreover, most Americans of African descent do not have anything to write home about when it comes to Africa. She goes on to explain that Africa has a lot to do with its roots, hence, it is high time that they retraced their roots. By visiting Africa, Beverly Holmes Diltz embraced the cultural value and heritage that African history portrays regarding African American way of life, how it goes beyond skin color.
