ADDENDUM TO 2018 LANAI MOUFLON SHEEP INSTRUCTIONS

NOTICE TO APPLICANTS FOR THE 2018 LANAI MOUFLON SHEEP HUNT

 

A $10.00 application fee must accompany each application upon return for the 2018 Lanai Mouflon sheep hunt.  Do not send cash, only certified checks, bank checks, money orders or personal checks will be accepted.  One check, representing the total group amount payable, is recommended.  Your cancelled check and/or processed permit will be your receipt.  Checks are to be made payable to the Division of Forestry and Wildlife.

 

All applications, individual(s) or as groups with appropriate fees and postage, must be mailed or dropped off directly to the Maui Division of Forestry and Wildlife office at 1955 Main St., #301, Wailuku, HI 96793, attn: “Lanai Hunt”.  Lanai residents are to mail or hand deliver their applications to the Lanai Division of Forestry and Wildlife Office at 917 Fraser ave., P.O. Box 630661, Lanai City, HI 96763.  Applicants may choose to apply online at https://hunthawaii.ehawaii.gov

 

Any single application or group applications received without complete and full application fees attached will be returned, to the address of the first applicant in the case of groups, or to the individual in the case of single applicants, with reason so noted, along with any accompanying payment.

 

Opportunity will be provided to rectify any incomplete filings (i.e. fee shortages, missing info., etc.) during the application period ONLY.  All applications, with appropriate fees must be received or postmarked before the filing deadline.  Any applications and fees received, postmarked after the deadline, will be returned and not included in the lottery.

 

In the event checks are returned for insufficient funds or other reasons, the applicant or group of applicants will be removed and ineligible for the lottery.  All dishonored checks will be assessed a $25.00 Return Check Fee.

 

Once received at the Maui or Lanai Division of Forestry and Wildlife office, there will be no amendments or changes made to any application or group of applications, i.e. no adding others to groups or changing an individual from one group to another.

 

In the event duplicate applications are identified, the first received application will remain eligible for the hunt; all other application(s) will be removed from further consideration.  Application fees collected under these circumstances will not be returned. 

 

Please be advised that upon checking in for the hunt at the Lanai Check Station, a tag fee will be assessed; $20.00 for Hawaii residents and $125.00 Non-Residents for each Mouflon sheep tag.  Cash only will be accepted.  Hunters will be required to purchase an either sex tag and will have the option of purchasing a ewe tag.  A non-typical ram tag will be issued free of charge.

 

**Only hunter assistants will be allowed to accompany the hunting party in the hunting area.**

Hunting licenses will NOT be sold at the Lanai hunter check station on Fridays of the check in for the Youth, Muzzleloader and General Rifle hunts.  Hunters are advised to purchase their hunting licenses prior to arriving on Lanai.
