INFORMS Journal Club

Presenting the

at the University of South Florida

Every First Friday

(specific time depends on room availability)

Goals

To promote...

  • Peer-to-peer learning
  • Self-directed education
  • Mentorship
  • New, cutting-edge and important papers
  • Plus! Practical everyday research skills

Every month

  • One recent paper with broad IE/OR impact
  • One 15-minute "Tech Tip"
  • One open, engaging, critical group discussion

Note: we'd like to say every month over lunch, but rooms are hard to reserve. So, we'll have to play it by ear...

How it works

1-4 weeks before:

  • Open suggestions for the discussion paper & discussion leaders.

1 week before:

  • Selected paper, discussion leader and Tech Tip presenter are announced.

First Friday of the month:

  • Participants come to the Journal Club meeting having read the paper, ready to have a good conversation!

...and a lively, open, productive discussion ensues.
