Idiomeja löytyy joka kielestä, myös suomesta. Edes äidinkielenään kieltä puhuville niiden kaikkien merkitys ei välttämättä ole selvä. Ulkomaalaiselle kielenoppijalle ne voivat kuitenkin olla täysin käsittämättömiä.
Mitä enemmän luet, puhut ja kuuntelet englantia (tai muuta kieltä), sitä paremmin tunnistat myös idiomeja. Muista, että kielitaitosi kehittyy työnteon myötä jatkuvasti, eikä kaikkea voi osata. Tarvittaessa voit aina googlata merkityksen (paitsi yo-kokeessa) lisäämmällä MEANING tai DEFINITION haussa:
