Macs were invented in 1980 when Steve Jobs began to direct the Jeff Raskin's "Macintosh project". The original idea was to create an extreamly beautiful computer with the WIMP (windows, icons, menu, pointer) interface.

Apple's computers have MAC OS X operating system. It works with the WIMP (windows, icons, menu, pointing device) interface, just like all newer OSs. One of the best features of this OS is the possibility to do optimizations and make the computer work with the best performance possible. MAC OS X is a kind of restrictive OS, for example it's possible to download only a limited number of SWs and it's difficult to access the deep OS...practically, it's possible to use the machine just like a common user.

Computers were born to make calculations. Then they became more versatile: they allow their users to do a lot of things in different environments (write documents, comunincate, browse he web and more).
The biggest majority of PCs has Windows (by Microsoft) operating system.
HARDWARE
The 2 most popular HW maker companys are Intel and AMD. The 1st one is the most diffused (also Apple computers have Intel motherboard and CPU). Intel's CPUs are known to be faster than AMD's ones, so they're used a lot by programmers. AMD is usually used by people who work with graphic softwares, its GPUs are some of the best it's possible to find.
OS: Windows, Linux
The PC, on the contrary of Mac, can use different operating systems.
The most popular OSs are : Windows (by Microsoft) and Linux (Linus Trovald).
Windows 10 (last version) is a hybrid between Windows 7 and Windows 8 , In fact, Microsoft took the best from both 2 previous versions.
Three of the best features of windows 10 is Cortana the personal assistant (like siri for iOS), multi-desktop (you can use more desktops at the same part) and HoloLens that are a kind of glasses with which you can see the images and videos like holograms.

CONCLUSION
Mac is may be more powerful tha PC because of its optimizations, but it's quite impossible to modify or customize its HW and SW. In musical and graphical environment Mac's the best. PC is a lot more customizable and it's better for programming.
If you have all Apple devices it's better to buy a Mac because it can easily share files and connect with them, but if you have different brands devices, it's better to choose a PC because it's easyer to make them communicate. Mac and other brands devices aren't so compatible.
There's no winner. Mac and PC are both good computers and they beat each other in different points. Now the choice is up to you, what do you prefere?
