ENGAGE: Social Education and Presentation Platform

How does it work?

You can record and create your own lessons and presentations inside Engage using a recorder feature and you can add in immersive elements such as virtual objects for people to interact with or visit virtual environments such as the surface of Mars.

Where is it used?

It is mostly used to hold meetings, classes, private lessons, and presentations with people around the world.

What's cool about it?

Why teach marine biology in a class room when you can teach it on the sea bed. Why travel thousands of miles for a single meeting when you can do it virtually.

The engage platform is free to use and you can download it from steam.

Weaknesses

They are still working on the improvement of some features, for example:

• The max number of people you can have in the room is  30 and they working on new server capabilities.
• So far if you want to use your own 3D models and environments inside Engage, you can but you have to contact them first, and they will asses the model and see if it can work in the platform.

Strengths

• You can choose to either record yourself or everybody in the virtual space at the same time.
• You can have private meetings by setting up a password after picking a location to hold your meeting.
• You can stream OneDrive, Google Docs, and Dropbox .You can stream in PowerPoints, videos, audio and a range of different documents using our media playback system. Engage also supports Youtube video playback in 2D, 3D and 360 formats.
• IT IS FREE TO USE.

Conclusion

A Great but small beta educational tool with solid multiplayer mechanics that work well with both VR and Non-VR. Supports Streaming of Files, YouTube and Powerpoints, making VR meetings very easy to perform as well as also being a great online multiplayer cinema style game for you and your friends to relax and watch videos together or just experiment in its various lessons.

This software has tremendous potential for developing engaging educational content.
