What is Value Stream Mapping?
A value stream map is a visual snapshot of all the steps required to deliver a project from A to Z.
- Helps us identify:
- Steps that directly add value to the customer
- Activities with no direct customer value but necessary
- Tasks that our team can eliminate to simplify delivery
What is Value Stream Mapping?
Example:
- Software Feature Delivery: Product Specification => Development => Testing => Bug fixes => Pre-production deployment => Production deployment.
Team Discussion
- We'll start with a very rough map from my naive understanding.
- There will be gaps and unanswered questions.
- Then we'll discuss it and review it as a team.
