1. Discuss, define and record what guidance BBSRC should provide for the particular set of people your group is considering.

  2. Decide which pieces of guidance your group has the skills and experience to contribute towards.

  3. Define the headings you’d expect to see in the guidance (see the Data Sharing Policy for an example)

  4. Write up broad guidance on what needs to be considered and the language that should be used. Include references to any existing material that is useful.

  5. Determine the stages of a project’s lifecycle to which this guidance applies.

  6. Define and record checklists (things you need to look for) and examples (how you know you’re on the right lines).

  4. 10 minutes before the end of session, review notes
