1. Github's api was readily available
2. Can't use localhost on the device to do local backend development
3. Great way to show  functionality of cocoPods with github api

1. SWIFTYJSON - Helps parse JSON (native is horrible)
2. ALAMOFIRE - It's like request but for Swift
3. SDWebImage - allows you to insert URL images into UIImageViews
