Réseau Ferré de France

French Railway Infrastructure Manager

our missions

Réseau Ferré de France's objective
providing an efficient, accessible network adapted to everyone's needs and able to meet our companies' environmental and economic challenges.

Increase the attractiveness of our network
As the owner and manager of one of the largest networksof railway infrastructures in Europe, Réseau Ferré de France is also responsible for promoting related services to increase their rate of use.

Traffic management
We manage the movement of 15,000 trains per day, in the aim of optimising and facilitating access to our network. This objective is seen in our offerof high-quality train paths and our consideration of our clients' needs.

Optimising property assets
As France's 2nd leading land owner, we enhance the value of our property, while improving the regions and the railway network
Our products, projects and investments meet these ambitions.

OUR missions

It's our job to run  21st century  rolling stock on  19th century infrastructure

Our Railway network is complex

WE are used to represent it with SCHemas

We use linear referencing SYSTEM TO LOCATE OUR ASSETS

+ we can switch from map to schema

- we don't have XY coordinates

WE PLAN TO Generate schematic diagrams for all the French Railway network

in one year ...

From (4000) diagrams ...

To map ...

2 types of schematic representation

Linear diagrams

GEOschematic

and we store them in our library

does these representations fit the needs of our end users ?

Proof of concept

we build the end users application to help them to imagine what they will be able to do in the future

As our representation is not their representation we propose functionnalities so they can "appropriate" the schema

definition of use cases

functions

functions

COMPONENTs

Then we can deliver cartographic or schematic  representation for all our customers

multiple applications

multiple usage

conclusion

From one user case to
- a global offer
- a global process
