Insiders are terrible teachers.
"Not knowing about all the [software] tools available made me feel like I’ve been running this long with my hands tied behind my back."

Paragraphs are the building blocks of papers. Many students define paragraphs in terms of length: a paragraph is a group of at least five sentences, a paragraph is half a page long, etc. In reality, though, the unity and coherence of ideas among sentences is what constitutes a paragraph. A paragraph is defined as “a group of sentences or a single sentence that forms a unit” (Lunsford and Connors 116). Length and appearance do not determine whether a section in a paper is a paragraph.

The Map is not the Territory
🧰
The map of reality is not reality. Even the best maps are imperfect. That’s because they are reductions of what they represent.
" An iPad is like a big Iphone".
" An iPad is like a big Iphone".
"An algorithm is a finite sequence of well-defined, computer-implementable instructions, typically to solve a class of problems or to perform a computation."
We only know 10 digits yet we can count to infinity?
Not only are they great for simplifying, they are great learning tools.
Different map,
different scale,
just as effective
"Bad Maps"
