The A. Edward Newton Award is the longest-running collegiate book collecting competition in the nation. First prize $1000.
McCabe Mile 18 laps around the stacks. 1st prize? A roll of Scott toilet paper.
Moore Student Fellowship Research a topic of your choice in the Friends Historical Library or Peace Collection. Receive $500 to spend one week in the collections.
Exhibitions
We invite students to propose and curate Pop-Up Exhibitions. You can open up conversation about relevant social issues or promote campus programming. Share your ideas.
Paid Internships
Swarthmore Libraries Internship offers an introduction to library & information science, promoting the American Library Association's values of Equity, Diversity, + Inclusion through weekly seminars and field trips.
Lib / Lab Fellows can expect a combination of open lab hours and weekly meetings, through which they will be exposed to web development and design, digital media, text analysis, and/or data visualization.
CiLIS – Careers in Library & Information Science is a multi-institutional week-long immersive to explore connections between librarianship, career options, and pressing social issues.
