Is It A Library Thing?

Helping your Orientation groups learn about Swarthmore's
library resources

Abbie Weil (she/her), Outreach Librarian

Simon Elichko (they/them), Social Sciences & Data Librarian

Why come to library orientation?

  • Chance to learn about important resources provided by the College (resources that students often tell us they wish they'd known about sooner)
  • Learn while playing a low-key game
  • Meet a librarian and a RIA (Research & Information Associate)
  • Encourage students to explore campus
  • Help address library anxiety
  • Tote bag!

We're asking new students to sign up for 1 session.

Sessions at McCabe, Cornell, and Underhill cover the same content.

Is It A Library Thing? sessions

Thursday 1:30-4 pm

Friday 1:30-4pm

Saturday 2-4pm

Encourage students in your orientation groups to sign up here!

Consider pointing your students to the Underhill Library sessions (even if they're not aspiring musicians or dancers)

  • Part of campus they may not explore otherwise
  • Beautiful library, great study spaces, unique resources

But how do you access Lang Music Building during construction?

Go through LPAC and use the interior stairs.

Exit LPAC at the lowest level and Lang Music Building will be to your left. (Underhill is inside Lang.)

Encourage students in your orientation groups to sign up here!
