Middlebrooks is a strong player with quick feet who excels in cutting and rolling to the rim, a very important aspect of his transition to professional basketball. Middlebrooks is a fantastic rebounder and on the offensive end he guarantees a lot of extra possessions for his team. During the 2023-24 season he posted an offensive rebound percentage of 13.9% (42nd overall in the country!), and on Offensive Rebounds (Put Backs) he scored 1.3 Points Per Possession, an impressive achievement that positioned him in the 78th percentile in NCAA Division 1.

Middlebrooks is a tough and versatile defensive player with fantastic footwork, ability to read the game and reactivity. His ability to protect the rim was highlighted during the 2023-24 season by his great Block Percentage of 3.9%, that ranked 270th among all NCAA Division 1 players. He also posted an excellent Steal Percentage of 3.1% (180th in the country), an impressive achievement for a frontcourt player.

•  Middlebrooks is a center with great strength and toughness. He moves his feet very well and is aggressive and dynamic, cuts hard and rebounds at a high level.
•  He’s a smart cutter and knows how to move off the ball, he’s a strong finisher and has very good touch around the rim. He’s also a very good passer.
 •  He’s a fantastic defender who plays with great toughness and versatility, he moves his feet very well, is always in the right spots, loves the physical game and protects the rim.

•  Middlebrooks needs to work on expanding his scoring range and developing a reliable shooting piece, something that he has potential to do as we see from his good free throw percentage.

•  He can improve his ability to manage fouls, as sometimes he ends up in foul troubles, and right now he’s averaging 5.2 fouls per 40 minutes.

Middlebrooks has very high upside thanks to his mix of size, strength, toughness, footwork, basketball IQ, ability to move off the ball, finishing ability, passing skills, rebounding presence, and defensive versatility.
