Revised plans for the 6.7-acre site, now known as Freedom Plaza, no longer feature a previously proposed Ferris wheel. Instead, the project consists of two elegant champagne-colored hotel towers, a residential complex, a democracy museum, and 4.7 acres of green space open to the public, offering a total of 1,200 rooms.

What sets this proposal apart is New York City's willingness to address urgent housing needs. Of the planned 1,325 units, 513 will be designated for affordable housing programs, and renters can qualify if they earn less than 80% of their local median income on average.
