A Scholarly Digital Edition is...
The most important task for the editor is the creation of information as rich, accurate and reliable data.
Sahle (2013)
- The "digital paradigm" can be thought of as modelling information about one or several historical documents as rich, accurate and reliable data, i.e. a TEI XML file.
- The "scholarly" part is tied to the selection, modelling, and annotation of data and the authority that comes with the editor or the institution behind it
- The edition part is tied to publication and, at least, the temporarily user-selected or pre-selected presentation as a derivative of the data: an interest-led view on a historical document.

A scholary edition is the critical representation of historic documents.
and 'Digital Scholarly Edition'
Digital Scholarly Editions are scholarly editions that are guided by a digital paradigm in their theory, method and practice and cannot – or can hardly – be given in print without significant loss of content and functionality.
According to the definitions, are you creating a DSE?
