Martin Luther was born in Eisleben, Germany, on November 10th, 1483.
He was born into a family of two. Both his mom and dad were peasants. His dad worked in a mine, and eventually made a small business.

July 1505
On July 2nd, 1505, Martin Luther was caught in a deadly storm in which he almost died. He swore to become a monk if he survived.
He survived the storm, and later, contrary to his father's beliefs, became a monk.

Martin Luther abandoned his studies of law, and joined the Augustinian Monastery.
He abandoned his 15 years of education to become a lawyer just to become a monk and join the monastery.
