Session 1

  • How often do you give presentations?
  • Who do you usually present to? (classmates / colleagues / customers / companies / the public / a special interest group / management, etc.)
  • When was the last time you gave a presentation in English? Was it a success? How do you feel about presenting in English?
  • What is a presentation you would like to work on?
  • Think about some presentations you've attended? Was it excellent or did it feel like a waste of time? Why? What annoys you?

  2. Does slide 2 represent a positive or negative image of being physically active?
  3. Slide 3 presents reasons why people do or don't do exercicse. What other reasons could the speaker mention?
  4. Who is the presentation aimed at? What is the purpose?

Session 8 | Conclusions and Final Presentation

  • What do you usually say in the conclusion of your presentations? Do you have any good strategies for making good conclusions?
  • Do you remember a conclusion you found particularly effective? What did the presenter do?
    • Were there any parts of the conclusion that were confusing or unclear?
    • What impact did the conclusion have on your understanding of the subject?
    • Would you recommend any changes to the way the conclusion was delivered or structured?
