Task 9

Colours

I found that my target audience prefer to see darker colours within the fonts & images. These colours may appeal to them as those are the colours that this demographic find the most appealing as it may have something to do with their fashion sense. This will help me produce my magazine cover as I now know i need to include these colours to appeal to them.

Images

My questionnaire showed me that my target audience like to see photos of the band members close up. This is because people like to see their band members clothing, the way they look etc as they find them attractive & they may want to mirror their style. These are the types of shots i will for mine. My target audience also said that they would find it appealing to see images of the musical instruments the band members are using. This is due to the interests of the audience, being into this kind of music they would have similar interests as the band members such as playing instruments.  

Fonts

My target audience either said they prefer the sans serif fonts, or a mixture of both, so this is what i will aim to include in my magazine. A mixture of both sans & sans serif is appealing as it doesn't get too boring. The appeal for sans serif fonts for this target audience for the rock genre of music is due to its simplicity & edgy style.

Content

Throughout my focus group & questionnaire, my target audience said that they enjoy hearing about tours/dates, & gossip about the bands, these things are most appealing for the audience as it gives them some sort of insight to what their idols are like behind the scenes which would make them happy as they would feel that they know them on a personal level, which is any fans dream. So i will be sure to include some sort of story about a band for my double page spread. 

Overall

Overall, i think my results were very helpful, as now i know what would appeal to the target audience, i now know what to include colour, image & content wise, which is very helpful, as i can now produce a successful rock music magazine that could have potential to be popular.
