THE MARS ENDEAVOUR: LAVA TUBES

The Mars Endeavour: Lava Tubes is an educational real-time strategy game for both kids and adults that utilizes natural lava tubes formed from past volcanic activity on Mars. 10 astronauts and 5 rovers are at your disposal. Your mission? To explore the lava tubes, mine for ore and ice, and build facilities so you can survive on Mars. You’ll have limited energy and resources, unless you can find your own. But watch out for the unexpected - perils like dust storms and meteor showers can threaten the success of your mission and your survival. How long can you survive on Mars? Play and find out.

CRITERIA

  • IMPACT: Simulation of playing out colonization on a planet (Mars), experimenting with Massless Exploration & local resources.
  • CREATIVITY: Perils, achievements, mining, resources system. 
  • COMPLEXITY: Unity game engine, inuitive controls, achievements, extensive resource framework & researchable upgrades. 

CRITERIA

  • COLLABORATION: Seven awesome people on the team, with thanks to John Sprague & Jim from NASA.
  • PRODUCT: Play out logistics of developing a colony, exploring lava tubes, working with rovers, resources and tools. 
  • SUSTAINABILITY: Goal to create end-to-end manufacturing with highest level of massless exploration possible, teach & inspire people.
