Since 2016, Ulises Bacilio and Raúl Salazar (partners of the company that precedes Mexicoin, Grupo PTM) have entered the world of cryptocurrencies. Ulises, a technology fan,  who believes in the reconfiguration of the current economic and social system, with his characteristic profile as an entrepreneur and explorer of new technologies, sells a property of his own and buys Bitcoins for about 2.5 MDP.

At the end of 2016, Ulises and Carlos Carreto were introduced by a mutual friend, because both entrepreneurs operated technology and business models in the telemedicine industry. Ulises developed the largest medical teleradiology network in Latin America and Carlos developed a platform for primary medical teleconsultation and monitoring based on video-calling. After talking, both entrepreneurs find interest in the emerging industry in the cryptocurrency sector and decide to develop a new company focused on this area.

Mexicoin, as a philosophy, passion, dream and finally as a company, was born on January 10, 2017, when a sense of curiosity and eagerness to solve major social problems arose in the three partners. They seek to develop a more efficient system to make the transfer of remittances from the United States to Mexico. At this moment, they conceptualize a model based on cryptocurrencies due to its easy transaction. However, after studying the industry, the partners chose not to develop the model due to operational, financial and commercial difficulties.

By March of 2017, they began to develop software for stock market, linguistic and technological analysis to formulate diversified investment portfolios in cryptocurrencies and in April they launched their first product to the market.
