Narration in documentary

Narration in a documentary is primarily used for storytelling but it also helps attract an audience, makes the tone more suited to the topic and enhances the documentary with localisation.

Sir David Attenborough is famous for his work in narrating for documentaries

A documentary should have narration, because without it they just become like a boring slideshow, the voiceovers give the information to the audience so they don't have to read subtitles or assume everything, they keep the audience engaged throughout the documentary.

Narration can be used to portray emotion during the documentary whether its light hearted and funny or powerful and serious.
