Abandoned Hut

I want to use this as my prime location for filming. The Hut is appropriate for the music video as it has an eerie feeling to it, setting the tone of the video. The dilapidating structure relates to the story of a crumbling relationship. It also intrigues the consumer into questioning why she is in the place.

 

 Cons

No Electricity

This means I will have to provide my own portable lighting in order to shoot.

Un Reliable

Since it is abandoned there is no knowing whether other people will be at the site while filming, If there is we will have to stop a shoot.

Hard Access

Entering the site can be abit awkward, especially with a range of equipment.

Mood

The site has a certain tone that matches the theme of my video, making it a great place to shoot.

Experimental

The site has a lot of different areas for shots and moods, lighting also differs lots in and out of the building. I can experiment with natural lighting and artificial lighting.

Close proximity

The site is in close proximity of all of my actors, this means we will be able to shoot there as many times as needed.

Conditions

Because the site is primarily indoors I do not have to be concerned about weather conditions.  

School Pool

I want to shoot in this location as I have equipment which allows me to shoot underwater, there is no specific qualities about the actual set location that I am aiming to focus on. However, I am shooting here because of the effect I can create with my subject. I will be able to produce flowing underwater shots where my actress is mid floating.

Cons

Time and Accessibility

An issue with this shooting site is that it can be hard to organise a time where all my actors are available when the location is available since, it is publically used outside of school hours.

Difficult

Directing underwater will be extremely hard as communication is limited while shooting. This may require a lot of time and re-shoots.

Uncertainty

There is a chance I will plan this entire shoot only for the underwater quality of the go-pro to not match the standard I am aiming for.

Permission

There is a chance we will not receive permission to shoot in location for safety reasons.

Pros

Effect

If the shots turn out how I imagine it should create some great cinematography.

Proximity

Since we all study at the school will are regularly at the site.

Lighting

The location is already lit which means I do not have to worry about providing lighting for the location.

Editing

Because the majority of the underwater shots will be wide it allows me to experiment in editing with overlaying.

Conditions

Because the shot is indoors I do not have to be concerned about weather conditions . 

Woodland Swing

 

The primary focus of this location is of the swing, it is high up and swings far. I should be able to get acrobatic shots of my character. It should provoke the feeling of restlessness to the consumers, the shots of the character swaying will indicate her restless thoughts.

Pros

Public

It is a public location in a small village so it is accessible and isn't busy. This means the site will be available for whenever I need to shoot.

Versatile

The location is scenic so it gives me the opportunity to shoot with very nice backdrops.

Field/Lane Road

This location is out in the country side. It is perfect to shoot for my car scenes. Because I am planning on using a drone I need an open space, which this provides.

Cons

Single lane

Because it is a single lane road, cars coming down the road may affect how I direct the driver.

Proximity

This location is also quite far away from where I am based so re organising shoots may be an issue

Pros

Open Space

It is a large open space for filming which is helpful as I am planning on doing drone shots.

Scenic

The site is very scenic and is a nice backdrop for shots of the subject.

Bonfire

I am intending on filming a bonfire on bonfires night (5th of November) . Shots of the subject and large flames in the backdrop will increase the intensity of the video, making viewers feel on edge.

 

Cons

Annual

The fire is an annual occasion so I only have one chance to film the necessary shots for the scene.

Permission

I am not guaranteed permission for filming, which I will have to take in consideration.

Pros

Mood

The location will increase the tension in the video, keeping consumers engaged.

Lighting

The shot will already be lit up meaning I will not have to lug my lighting to set.
