Responsibilities of the Board

The purpose of an advisory committee is to support educators,

students, and business in establishing, developing, and evaluating CTE programs to ensure students are well prepared for the world of work.

 

 Provide information on occupational development

 Provide information on employment trends

 Provide feedback on curriculum, classrooms, labs, & certifications

 Provide letters of support

 Provide work-based learning opportunities

 Volunteer as CTSO judges

 

Governing Board

From the advisory committee, a Governing Board must be designated. This subgroup of the committee will

act as the steering mechanism for the committee.
 

 Lead the advisory committee meetings

 Listen to the insight & recommendation of the advisory committee

 Caucus before/after a committee meeting to ensure consensus, if needed

 Render decisions/actions to help navigate the program’s future

 Providing formal reports to school administration
