Communities of Practice

Inspired by Emily Webber

Our natural human desire is to CONNECT

and experience BELONGING.

At this time of social disruption it is more important than ever

to be connected and feel supported.

OUR REALITY

Communities of Practice are groups of people

who share a concern or passion for something they do

and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.

COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE

We sometimes limit our view of “Learning”

to receiving new knowledge through a text or expert.

Yet, we can be in long trainings and not learn a thing.

PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION

Communities of Practice grow skills through two forms of learning:

Social Learning: from other people

Experiential Learning: by doing

In Communities of Practice people can support each other to:

Overcome isolation through deep connection

Strengthen communication through empathic dialogue

PERSONAL IMPACT

Grow life skills through interpersonal encouragement

As a community matures it can move on

from sharing knowledge to solving problems,

using the collective intelligence within the community.

In Communities of Practice people co-create experiences of:

Positive relationships with others

Personal growth and self-acceptance

PERSONAL MOTIVATION

Enhanced purpose in life

"There is no power for change greater than

a community

discovering what it cares about."

Margaret J. Wheatley
