Facts

Suicide is the 10th Leading Cause of Death in the US
Takes the Lives of over 38,00 Americans A year
Females are more likely than males to have had suicidal thoughts.
Suicide among males is 4x’s higher than among females. Male deaths represent 79% of all US suicides.

What are we going to do?

Spread awareness about suicide to those who are uninformed

Get into groups of four and discuss ways to spread awareness on suicide and how to help prevent it from happening.

Share your Ideas with the class

How will your group spread prevention awareness?

A few ideas?

Create a Social Media page related to the topic.
Donate to organizations and get others to donate as well.
Educate yourself and others and provide them with resources such as the suicide prevention hotline.

How will your plan impact the community?

record and measure the outcome of your social action plan

Once all projects are complete you will share your social action plan with the class

All group members must participate

Presentation should be at least 6-10 minutes long
