ADVERTISING INDUSTRY SELF-PROMOTION INTEGRATED MEDIA CAMPAIGN
HATCH
In today’s job market, students and young professionals are up against increasingly competitive requirements to be even considered for entry-level advertising agency positions. Born from advertising agency Hunt Adkins, HATCH was developed as a four-week pop-up agency to recruit and foster talent that may otherwise fall through the cracks of a traditional internship application process or program.
The program offered anyone, ready and willing, an opportunity to do real work for real clients under very real conditions. Strategy would be presented, torn apart and reconstructed. Ideas would be pitched, killed, reworked, killed and then killed again until they were brilliant, on strategy and on budget. All-nighters would be expected. Coffee and cocktails consumed. Participants would experience firsthand the intensity needed to develop an integrated campaign for an unknown brand, while learning about the category, product and target in real-time. And to top it all off, they would get paid only if the client bought the campaign.
To ensure Hunt Adkins got the hungriest and brightest individuals for this baptism by fire educational experience, they developed a campaign that removed any and all sugarcoating. They teased and intrigued with unconventional messaging and industry truths to rally like-minded creative strategists. Creative was seeded at scholastic events and on social media to generate an exclusive, insider tone to the entire experience.
The result? A team of thirteen bright minds that learned more in four weeks than four years in school or any previous internship. Two Hunt Adkins hires. And one happy client.
