Heavenly Father and Jesus want us to pray
Jesus taught the Nephites to pray
Usually a father, or the adult in charge, will ask someone to pray.
Anyone in the family can say the prayer.
Who can pray? Who asks someone to pray?
Sing: Let us Gather in a Circle
Give each child a stuffed animal and let them show them how to pray.
What do we pray for?
Sing:
I begin by saying “Dear Heavenly Father”;
I thank him for blessings he sends;
Then humbly I ask him for things that I need,
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Show printed pictures of things we can pray for.
Build cup towers with cups that have pictures on them. Then knock them down.

toss a ball to a child and ask what's something we can thank HF for? What's something we can ask him for?
This is my mother, who helps me at play (raise first finger);
This is my father, who works all the day (raise second finger).
This is my brother, so strong and so tall (raise third finger);
This is my sister, who likes to play ball (raise fourth finger).
And this is me; I’m happy to say (extend thumb)
Together our family kneels down to pray (close fist).
