Complementary aspects of communication in Soccer

Gary Fixter Soccer Communication

The first thing we must do before establishing a communication protocol in football, whether theoretical or practical, is to assess the different aspects that complement communication:

Cultural aspects

You have to value the culture of the players, their customs, their religion, their way of proceeding ... and also that of the club. Different countries, different types of player and different clubs, that you have to know to find the best way to communicate.

Linguistic aspects

Related to the above, the language we can face is different and the players may be from different backgrounds. If we work with a translator, the way we express something is lost and the quality of the message is not always exact or reaches 100%. If the player speaks the same language, but is not their primary language, a word can be misinterpreted and conflict.

Hierarchical aspects

More related to the group that composes it and the procedure that the club wants to carry out. From continuous communication, especially, to the entire group, to messages only to the captain or captains so that they can send it to the rest of the staff. They may or may not also include a president or board member, depending on the club's idiosyncrasy.

Individual aspects

They have to do with the personality of each player, how they deal with messages and different means of communication and what types of messages generate more reflection in it.
