The integrated planning of a coach

Gary Fixter Soccer Coach

The great players need the best soccer training and for this it is very important the continuous training and a good management of the coach who directs him.

If a player wants to reach the top of the sport, the coach will play a very important role.

And if you are a coach and want to reach the top, you must have leadership skills, extensive knowledge of all the skills that are worked in soccer and good public speaking so that your players understand your knowledge, guidance and inspiration.

All soccer players and coaches who reach the professional level have something in common: continuous training, full dedication and passion in your work.

Regardless of whether you do it by reading books, watching videos, playing or training continuously, working humility or listening to other people, you never know when you can receive advice or listen to a recommendation that can help you improve your game.

With all this in mind, it is always a good idea to keep a list of your needs, so that the improvement of your players can help you reach the top and get to know the great variety in soccer training every day more professionalized from an early age.

Training sessions with ball

The adaptations caused by analytical training have no transfer to the real characteristics that occur in football.

To be able to transfer to football, it is necessary to carry out exercises where the protagonist is the ball, possessions, rondo, reduced games or modified games of medium-low or medium-high intensity, according to the planning and day of the week where we are, taking into account on game day.

Improve acceleration

Whenever you talk about improving performance you talk about improving power but the really important thing is to improve acceleration.

Improving the acceleration will improve the power but improving the power will not necessarily improve the acceleration.

Increased muscle mass

Following the previous point, we can increase our power without improving acceleration or speed, increasing our mass. This will only be useful if we achieve functional hypertrophy. Any increase in mass in the form of fat or non-functional muscle will be detrimental to performance.

Adapt to slowdowns

After great accelerations as we have said before, great decelerations will come. In addition, in soccer, the route is usually not linear since there are constantly changes of direction.

These changes of direction cause continuous accelerations and decelerations. These decelerations will cause more muscle damage and fatigue than the accelerations.

Injury prevention

As I said before, in all my teams, I give a lot of importance to Core's work and injury prevention.

Every workout should be designed to minimize the risk of injury, there is no point in getting the best performance possible if this leads to frequent injuries. Less injured time will involve more time competing.

Bonus track: post-break warm-up

Performance in speed and jump performance has been observed in several studies to be decreased especially in the first 5-10 minutes post-break, compared to even the last 5 minutes of the first half.
