  • Discourage negative behaviors and reward positive ones
  • Listen for content and feelings, for emotions behind the words between the lines. Respond to both.
  • Look for nonverbal cues of the participants discomfort, such as fidgeting, avoid eye contact, sighing, and learning and entering.
