IIIF A/V
- Formal inclusion of Audio/Visual materials and annotation in v3 of the Presentation API spec
- Streaming files in manifests
- Annotations in time dimension as well as x/y dimensions
- Coming this summer
IIIF Discovery
- Standardize patterns that will facilitate discovery, harvesting and synchronization, indexing, and importing of IIIF resources
- Transferrable content state
Where is IIIF going
after all that?
- IIIF as onramp to machine learning (excellent fodder for countless projects)
- Making it easier for institutions of all sizes and means to participate in a global cultural heritage context
