The oldest of the three credit bureaus, Equifax (registered as Equifax Inc.) was founded in 1899 and currently services over 400 million credit holders. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, Equifax has come under recent fire for violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act resulting in pending lawsuits.
