Are our thriller ideas effective, why?

  • It is because it is mysterious and creates an enigma
  • It is effective as it is a mixture of crime and physiological
  • They are effective as they are traditional thriller themes as well as unique
  • They are effective as they are not styles from traditional thriller movies but there is murder
  • It’s is effective as you can’t see who is doing the murder

From the feedback it is clear that our thriller ideas are effective because they all can clearly work out our sub-genre as they mentioned how it was a crime/psychological thriller. Furthermore they thought that our ideas give off a sense of mystery as well as creating enigma. They also said that it would be effective they do not see the murderer.

As a Title for our thriller what would be more effective: Witness or Nightmares?

  • Witness
  • Witness
  • Nightmare
  • Witness
  • Witness

Overall the majority vote for the title is witness as they felt that is fitted better with the sub-genre as it is a police officer witnessing the murders. Tasha, Nat, Emma and Anni, all seemed to think that this fitted better because there is a link between the name and the ideas.

  1. What could we do to improve our thriller opening?

  • Showing personal life, struggling with what he has seen
  • Fast pace editing with quick cuts
  • Chase scene or a ticking time
  • Cloaked out murder to show the mystery
  • Antagonist preparing to kill the person

To improve our opening there were a few suggestions that we are taking into consideration for our vox pop. The suggestions were to have fast pace editing which should be effective as it will cause chaos and confusion for the viewer as well as ensuring that the viewer will not lose interest in the opening. Furthermore Anni added an idea of showing the antagonist preparing for the murder to show mystery. Also Emma had other ideas which we are trying to incorporate which is to have the antagonist cloaked out or hidden to create the sense of mystery and enigma.
