CPU Architectures: Part 1
Juan Hinojo

This story gets really dark...
Apple and Intel Broke their Relationship

x86
x86_64
ARM

PowerPC

ARM is now getting to the cloud

The truth is developers love Macbook
Great use of electricity
Unix based
Runs Mac
Runs Windows
Runs Linux
Runs docker

Whats gonna happen to Intel?
Hackintosh is now dead
Docker, Vmware, Virtualbox (Hypervisor)
No more parallels bootcamp (running windows on Mac)
Now we need to emulate each one of them
That is the reason Android virtual devices are so friggin slow
Docker runs now 2x-5x slower on the new macs
Good news
Native Virtualization of Android and iOS
Better battery lifetime (4 days) no joke
Better performance
Much more thinner laptops
Less production cost (same prices for the end user :P )
History gets Darker...
CPU Architectures Part 2:
The War of Microprocessors

Juan Hinojo
Recapping:
There are 2 types of processors:
CPU (serial processing)
GPUs (parallel processing)

ARM
They didn't have a production line, they only licensed their architecture to be able to be produced by other third party providers.

Desktop PCs
Servers
Laptops
Phones
IOT (Cars, and devices connected to internet)
ARM based Microprocessors

Comac vs Boeing 787/Airbus

Has its own ARM based chip
Taiwan

Our life is runned by microchips more than we think
