Originated in China during Zhou Dinasty 2500 years ago
Spread to Korea and Japan in 500 AD and 700 AD
A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY

Basic rules
Objective: to surround more territory than your adversary
Stones/G
roups must have at least one liberty
Or they are captured
Stones form "Chains" or groups when connected by the lines of the board
BASIC RULES
"Ko rule":
Players are not allowed to make a move that returns the game to the previous position
A player may pass. If the two players pass the game ends and has to be scored
Score is calculated counting captured stones and empty areas surrounded by each player own stones
