Opening Sequence: Final Treatment

Main Character

We ended up picking Matt Smith. We liked his general look, he seemed like an innocent character and that's what we were going for with this role. Other male auditions didn't have the same trait which is why we could narrow it down quite quickly.

Plot

For our opening sequence we have chosen to leave out a lot of narrative, although the basic idea is that someone that the main character was close with has 'died'. However there is another character within the opening sequence, and its them who adds the real mystery as it leave the audience confused as to why they're there.

Setting

The setting for the opening sequence is mainly within a graveyard we will have a walking montage of the main character leading to the initial scene which will either be inside the graveyard again or close by.

Props

We have chosen no to use additional props as we believe them to be unnecessary in our opening sequence and may also over-complicate and negatively impact the title sequence.

Costumes

We have chosen to use regular clothing for our opening sequence, we wanted our main character to be relatable to the audience and dressing them in a bug black suit would have the opposite effect.

Music and SFX

For our opening sequence we will be using quite slow, sad music. this will be to emphasize that what has happened is depressing and not to be taken lately. we will also use little sound effects for our we want the opening sequence to stay relatively calm and leave the audience intrigued as to whats to come.
