,ASYLUM,

 February 28th we watched
a short film ,Asylum,.

The film presents the fates of refugees staying in a center in Poland.

Viktoriya Nasalska came from Ukraine
with husband and children in 2015 year.
She left the country because of the war.
The grenade hit her flat causing ruin.
The woman left everything at home.
She managed to take only a few things.

The next inhabitant of the center is Shamayev Baisakirg. He comes from Chechnya. He has been in Poland for six months.

The center is also inhabited by Sofia, Jasmine, Andżelina ... and many other people.
Now, there are about 134 people. Most of them are citizens of Russia but also citizens of Ukraine, Georgia and Belarus reside there.

At the beginning when they came to Poland it was hard for them.

They had to learn the language, write and read. However, now they can't imagine a different life than here in Poland.

What are their dreams?

Viktoriya dreams about her apartment and get a driving license. However, the biggest dream of all residents of the center is to remain permanently in Poland.

From the very beginning, the film moves and gives food for thought. It shows what the life of people who have left their country, often even illegally, looks like.
I think it is not easy for anyone to leave their country. Leaving somewhere voluntarily or by coercion often such persons leave their families, property and friends. They will learn a new culture, language ...
They start their lives anew.

Reasons of emigration:

  • higher earnings
  • better job
  • to the family
  • political situation
  • war
  • in order to travel and explore the world

To which countries do they come?

POLAND

GERMANY

UNITED KINGDOM

NETHERLANDS

UNITED STATES
