Additions to FY20 Action Plan

Goal -  Member libraries will receive network services that allow their staff to perform efficiently and deliver effective services.

• Evaluate the current ILS, the feasibility of moving to a new ILS, and determine if a RFP should be issued to potentially find a new ILS.

• Enter negotiations for SirsiDynix contract service or begin RFP process for new ILS

• Implement HTML notices to provide a more professional look to notices and allow staff to receive replies directly from their own patrons.

• Evaluate ways to streamline processes to minimize network staff intervention in patron/library interactions (e.g. Patron PIN requests).

• Evaluate the implementation of patron credits in the ILS.

• Implement eResource Central to more tightly integrate electronic resources into the discovery platform.

Goal -  Member libraries will have network provided Resource Sharing services that meet the needs of their users

• Evaluate Overdrive magazines before renewal to determine if it should be continued and if it should be expanded.

• Support more roundtables to allow informal sharing among directors and other staff.

Goal - Member Libraries will have a well-managed and administered network

• Seek and evaluate programs that may allow SAILS to join larger groups of employers to decrease benefit costs.
  

• Onboard new Bibliographic and Digital Services Manager, providing training and documentation to allow them to succeed in their new role.
