Oceans end

Written by Colin Woodard

Summary

In the book Oceans End Colin Woodard is documenting the conditions of the oceans he visits all around the world. Colin tells us the conditions of the various oceans and tells us how that ocean or body of water ended up in the bad or worsening condition it is in. Wether it was caused by pollution, over fishing, global warming, relocation of species, destruction or draining of bodies of water. This book gives you a deep insight to what is going on that many of us haven't ever heard of or thought about. The book is dark and sad because it faces you with reality. That what we are doing to the oceans won't only effect us and the species living in these waters, but effects the whole world. Colin Woodard also tells you what you can do to stop the ruining of the ocean before it gets worse.

Quotes

•"That's what happened to the fish. Greed killed the fishery". This quote is significant because it opens your eyes to realize that the over fishing of fish isn't for consumption it's for profit.

• "But the mangroves are part of the reef, and the reef protects and maintains the island". This quote is significant because it reveals important information that what is being done to the oceans hurt the ocean but also gets where we live and eventually us.

•"An ocean full of life , of creatures that inspire and enrich human existence, not just as resources but as neighbors, companions, even friends". This quote is significant because it is saying that the ocean should be treated respectfully and not taken advantage of.

I chose Oceans End because it looked really interesting, and I love to learn new things about the ocean even though it's sad what is happening to our oceans. I Would recommend others to read this book because it opens your eyes to things you never knew. Things that are important to know so you can make a change. It is boring at times but worth it.
