Biomass

Biomass energy is produced by photosynthesis because it gets captured then its released.

Advantages of Biomass

  • Creates no harmful carbon dioxide emissions
  • Because of clean use, receives tax credits from U.S. government 
  • Biomass products are abundant and renewable

Disadvantages of Biomass 

  • Very expensive energy
  • Relative inefficiency
  • Biomass products are on land that can easily burn

Coal

Coal is  fossil fuel formed in swampy ecosystems from the remains of the plants.

Advantages of coal

  • Easily transported to areas in the world
  • Inexpensive to buy on an open market
  • Can be used to build power stations almost anywhere

Disadvantages of coal 

  • Coal must be mined in mining ruins habitat
  • Leaves behind harmful remains
  • Fast depleting
