PLANTS! PLANTS! PLANTS!
Weird Wednesday: how to multiply plants
Why
- because u want more plants (duh)
- bc plant is dying
- bc you are a nice person and sharing is caring
- bc it's cheap
Seeds
Pro
- cheap!
- cool to see how rapidly plant is changing
Cons
- so slooooow (don't even try to grow trees)
- could be space consuming - planters, multiple pots needed
- can be tricky
Tips
- READ INSTRUCTIONS
- soak seeds overnight
- keep everything humid, but not wet
- find warm, sunny place (but don't try to fry your seedlings)
- if you don't have a greenhouse, use plastic bags
Cuttings
Pros
- so easy and fast!
- most of the time cuttings grow fast
- you can get ones for free (also illegally plz dont get caught and blame me)
- stressing the plant can stimulate growth and branching
Cons
- you are stressing the plant
- you can overdo it
Tips
- educate yourself about plant bodyparts
- differences between leaves and stems
- make cuttings with one-two leaves
- Keep It Stupid Simple - most of the time water and jar is all you need
- ...but you can complicate that using moss which works great (buy sphagnum moss, don't steal moss from the forest!)

- using moss seems to work good for roots - from my tests roots branch more
- found info that transition to soil stress plant less
ZZ plant
- can be propagated from leaves and cuttings
- takes a-lot-of-time
- if you have broken stems - propagate!

By division
Pros
- ultimate last minute present, just buy more pots before
- can stimulate plant for growth
- you can change soil for fresh one
Cons
- sometimes you want to be root-bound - some plants in such case start to bloom
- roots are easy to damage
ZZ plant
- after repotting zz will focus on growing roots
- use tight planters
- don't over water it!
Succulents
Tips
- use succulent soil (for easy drainage)
- spraying water is probably better than direct flow
- give then a lot of time to use nutrients and water from the leaf
- you can get free samples from shops!
End.
